Emerging Creatives

Gain the skills to be part of a production team in a world-class theatre environment.

Emerging Creatives is dedicated to all the skills behind the scenes that bring theatre to life. In 2024, Emerging Creatives will be delivered in partnership with the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

  • Be introduced to the fundamentals of lighting, sound, set, costumes, props, and stage management through a series of practical workshops led by experienced industry professionals.
  • Visit NIDA’s facilities in Sydney, observe NIDA productions, and receive guest talks from NIDA staff.
  • Have the opportunity to assist creatives and technical crew on Canberra Youth Theatre productions throughout the year.

Emerging Creatives gives you the language, skills, and inspiration to explore your own creative vision. Discover the whole palette of theatrical possibilities, and how to bring it all together to make arresting theatre.

Enrolments for Emerging Creatives close on Sunday 12 May.
