Bell Shakespeare Workshop

We are thrilled to be partnering with Bell Shakespeare Company to offer Young Artists aged 14–18 a free workshop on Saturday 19 October. This opportunity has been generously provided by the John Bell Scholarship team, and will invite young artists to unpack all the wonderful magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Participants will need to create a free Class Manager account to enrol at this link

We know Shakespeare can seem intimidating, so we’d like to reassure our young artists that these workshops are catered to all levels of experience and no prior Shakespeare or theatre knowledge is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to have a go!

However, if you do fancy yourself a Shakespeare enthusiast, Bell Shakespeare will also be running workshop auditions for their 2024 John Bell Scholarship at Canberra Youth Theatre on the same day. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work one-on-one with a professional Bell Shakespeare artist in the audition process, and recipients of the scholarship will have the chance to spend a fully-funded week working with and observing Bell Shakespeare at their Sydney headquarters (this opportunity is for students aged 16+ and is open to Canberra residents).

More information about the scholarship and selection process is available here, with audition sign-ups available at this link.
