Created by internationally acclaimed performance company Mammalian Diving Reflex, Nightwalks with Teenagers is an unforgettable walking performance created in collaboration with young people. It brings together teens and adults to share in an experience where everyone can let loose, and silences offer moments for contemplation.
Expect to dance, laugh, run, walk and parkour your way through our urban playground, discovering a Canberra you never knew existed. Along the way, you’ll experience moments of connection, play, and quiet reflection as your teenage guides invite you into the places that matter most to them.
We invite you to surrender control, follow unfamiliar routes, and experience the city through perspectives you may not usually encounter. In Nightwalks with Teenagers, walking together at night becomes a subtle yet powerful act of resistance that challenges assumptions about public space, belonging, and who gets to tell the story of a city.
Presented in Canberra for the first time, this internationally celebrated project joins a global movement that has transformed urban spaces in cities around the world.
