12 Hour Theatre Project
Join us for the final of our Resident Artist Workshop series – 12 Hour Theatre Project is for young artists aged 7 – 25.
The 12 Hour Theatre Project is a short, intensive and creative opportunity for young people to collaborate, devise and perform a new theatre piece, which will increase their dramatic training and performance abilities and expand their practical skillset. Young people who participate will be given a set piece of material and guidelines but will then have the free rein to write, direct and perform a 10-minute play in response to the material. Young people involved will participate as actors, directors, sound and lighting, stage management and more!

This Is My Story
With Rebecca Duke

Join us for the first of our Resident Artist Workshop series. This Is My Story is for artists in years 4 – 9.
Working with playwright Rebecca Duke, you will write your own monologue and bring it to life through movement. Rebecca will guide you through the process of creating an engaging story and interesting characters. You will create a short monologue, discover ways to physically explore and present your work, and develop your confidence to be bold and playful in the way that you create and share your own stories.

Join us for the second of our Resident Artist Workshop series – If the Shoe Fits is for artists aged 16 – 25.
Theatre maker Claire Holland will lead a workshop that delves into the stories, tales and legends that have fascinated audiences for centuries, and discovers what they might look like in a contemporary setting. Using a mix of devising and physical theatre techniques, this workshop will re-imagine well known fairy tales into challenging new performance works that investigates the role of storytelling in our modern world, and unlocks the ideas at the core of these myths.

National Portrait Gallery
Join us for the third of our Resident Artist Workshop series – Performing with Portraits is for artists in school years 3 – 6.
We are very excited to be collaborating with the National Portrait Gallery on this fun workshop for young people on the magic between art and acting with Resident Artist, Holly Johnson.
This workshop offers young artists the opportunity to be guided around the National Portrait Gallery to see art in new and exciting ways, and build skills to develop an unique understanding and personal relationship to art. Participants will engage in a range of exercises that creatively explore how to play, perform, and bring art to life in both the imagination and the body.
